INDIA’S Marwadi University is offering partial scholarships to Solomon Islanders to undertake studies in India in 2027 and applications are now open, the Ministry of Education and Human Resource announced yesterday, Sunday 1 November 2026.
MEHRD said the programmes include undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes in Engineering and Technology, Science, Management Studies, Computer Applications, Law, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Nursing and Arts. Confirm the available course and entry requirements with the university.
In terms of eligibility, MEHRD said: “recent and previous Grade 12 graduates may apply. The letter specifies a minimum of 60% in Grades 10–12, basic English communication skills, no IELTS or TOEFL requirement and no age limit. Postgraduate applicants must provide their undergraduate qualification and transcript; PhD applicants must also provide their master’s qualification and transcript. Admission is subject to eligibility assessment.”
MEHRD said the scholarship covers a 50% merit scholarship on tuition fees and undergraduate students who stay in the campus hostel throughout their studies are also offered a free one-way air ticket from Honiara to India.
It said application guidance, visa support, a pre-departure briefing and airport pick-up are offered.
MEHRD said the costs successful applicants must meet are the remaining portion of the tuition which is quoted at approximately USD 1,700–2,500 per year depending on the programme, Campus living costs are quoted at approximately USD 1,200 per year, including hostel accommodation, meals, electricity, laundry and internet and an USD 500 confirmation payment which is required after provisional acceptance and additional charges apply.
It said successful applicants must obtain a confirmed written fee schedule and payment terms before paying as this is a partial scholarship.

3. Provide Grade 10 and 12 results or equivalent, a recent photograph, valid identification and any required degree certificates and transcripts. Eligible applicants will receive a provisional acceptance letter before the admission confirmation and visa stages.
Applications close on 30 November and applicants are encouraged to submit their applications before the closing date.
