The Solomon Islands passport ranks 59th globally in 2026, with a Mobility Score of 137 and access to 69.2% of destinations without a conventional pre-arranged visa. The data record 84 visa-free destinations, 44 destinations under visa-on-arrival or other facilitated-entry arrangements, and nine requiring electronic travel authorisation, while 61 destinations require a visa before travel. Within Oceania, Solomon Islands ranks third among 14 countries, with an 84.6% regional access rate. Access is particularly broad across the Caribbean at 93.8%, North America at 91.3% and Europe at 89.4%.
The report also documents differences in regional access, key destination requirements, contextual rankings and visa reciprocity patterns involving foreign passport holders entering Solomon Islands. The findings and supporting data may be used in news reports, broadcasts and other editorial coverage. Data report highlights a 137 mobility score, 69.2% global access and third place within Oceania HONIARA, Solomon Islands: The latest Solomon Islands passport ranking places the country 59th globally in 2026, with a Mobility Score of 137 and access to 69.2% of destinations without a conventional pre-arranged visa. The score is made up of 84 visa-free destinations, 44 destinations in the visa-on-arrival or facilitated-entry category, and nine destinations requiring an electronic travel authorisation. A further 61 destinations are classified as requiring a visa before travel.
Within Oceania, the Solomon Islands passport ranks third among 14 countries. The regional data show access to 84.6% of Oceania destinations: four are visa-free and seven fall under visa-on-arrival or facilitated-entry arrangements, while Australia and New Zealand are listed as requiring a visa before travel.
Strong access across Europe, the Caribbean and North America
Europe records one of the broadest access profiles in the report, with a total access rate of 89.4%. Solomon Islands passport holders have visa-free access to 39 European destinations, access to two destinations through the visa-on-arrival or facilitated-entry category, and electronic travel authorisation access to the United Kingdom. Five European destinations are listed as requiring a visa.
The Caribbean has a total access rate of 93.8%, with 13 visa-free destinations, one destination in the facilitated-entry category and one electronic-authorisation destination. North America records 91.3% total access, including 18 visa-free destinations, one facilitated-entry destination and two electronic-authorisation destinations. The United States and Mexico are the two North American destinations shown as requiring a visa.
Among major travel markets highlighted in the report, the Schengen Area is listed as visa-free, while the United Kingdom and Canada require electronic travel authorisation. The United States is listed as requiring a visa before travel. Several visa-free destinations also carry specific entry procedures or stay limits, including a 30-day arrival-card requirement in Malaysia and Singapore, a 90-day tourist-card arrangement in Suriname, and 180-day visa-free stays in destinations including Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados and Peru.
Access varies sharply by region
Africa has a total access rate of 63.0%, comprising 11 visa-free destinations, 20 in the visa-on-arrival or facilitated-entry category and three electronic-authorisation destinations. Asia is evenly divided in the report: 25 of 50 destinations are accessible through visa-free, facilitated-entry or electronic-authorisation arrangements, while 25 require a visa.
South America records 41.7% total access, while the Middle East stands at 41.2% and Central Asia at 40.0%. The Gulf countries show the lowest regional access rate in the report at 16.7%, with the United Arab Emirates as the only visa-free Gulf destination and the other five destinations listed as requiring a visa.
Context rankings and reciprocity signals
Beyond the global passport table, the report places Solomon Islands 20th among 60 countries where English is an official language, 15th among 25 parliamentary constitutional monarchies, 63rd among 159
World Trade Organization members, 20th among 56 Commonwealth countries and 23rd among 132 G77 countries. In a separate inbound measure, Solomon Islands is ranked 108th among 199 countries in the report’s welcoming-country table, which measures ease of entry for foreign passport holders rather than the outbound strength of the Solomon Islands passport. The report also separates outbound passport access from Solomon Islands visa requirements for foreign passport holders entering the country. Its reciprocity section identifies cases where foreign citizens can enter Solomon Islands through visa-free, electronic-authorisation or arrival-based arrangements while Solomon Islands passport holders need a visa for the reverse journey; examples include the United States, Australia, Japan, Thailand and New Zealand. It also identifies the reverse pattern for destinations such as Angola, Bangladesh, Kenya, Peru, Sri Lanka, Türkiye and Vietnam, where Solomon Islands passport holders receive visa-free, electronic-authorisation or arrival-based access while the counterpart passport is listed as requiring a visa to enter Solomon Islands.
Mobility score has held at 137 since 2024
The historical series in the country page shows the Mobility Score rising from 79 in 2020 to 103 in 2021, 132 in 2022 and 135 in 2023. It reached 137 in 2024 and remained at that level in both 2025 and 2026. Over the same annual series, the global rank was 62nd in 2020, 72nd in 2021, 63rd in 2022, 64th in 2023, 59th in 2024, 56th in 2025 and 59th in 2026. A separate update dated 31 August 2026 records the latest ranking move from 60th to 59th.
Taken together, the 2026 data position the Solomon Islands passport in the upper half of the global table, with especially broad access across Europe, the Caribbean, North America and Oceania. The report’s 137-point mobility total is fully accounted for by 84 visa-free destinations, 44 destinations using arrival-based or other facilitated-entry arrangements, and nine electronic travel authorisation destinations, while 61 destinations remain in the pre-travel visa category.
