RSIPF SWAT Team Makes History at UAE Challenge

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade (MFAET) is proud of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) SWAT Team. The team took part in the UAE SWAT Challenge 2026 in Dubai, UAE, from February 5–11, 2026. This was the first time Solomon Islands joined this big international competition, organized by Dubai Police.

The Challenge tests police teams from around the world on their skills and teamwork. The RSIPF SWAT Team was one of 109 teams from 48 countries, and the only team from a Pacific Island nation.

The team did well, finishing four out of five events. The Ministry thanks the Solomon Islands Ambassador to the UAE, His Excellency Cornelius Walegerea, for helping the team participate.

At a special event, the Ambassador congratulated the team for representing the country. The team finished in 89th place. The Ministry thanks Dubai Police and other partners for their support and looks forward to joining the Challenge again. This event shows Solomon Islands is working with other countries to improve police skills.
