Twelve officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) were promoted to senior positions within the RSIPF during a Commissioners parade at Rove police headquarters on 17 July 2025.
The promotion happened after the Police and Prison Service Commission had endorsed the promotion of 12 officers to the ranks of Inspector and Superintendent.
Among the 12 newly promoted was a female officer who was promoted to the rank of inspector.

RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau, during a morning tea with promoted officers, said, “I am pleased with the promotions, which have been endorsed by the Police and Prison Service Commission.
“To all officers who have been promoted, I extend my full congratulations to you, and I look forward to welcoming you to the senior leadership team of the RSIPF,” Commissioner Mangau said.
He emphasized the importance of their new roles in guiding and mentoring junior officers, encouraging them to uphold the values and standards of the force.
The commissioner also highlighted the commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment within the work environment.
Mr. Mangau said these promotions are very important to strengthen our leadership ranks in the RSIPF and help us guide the organization into the future.
“Now you are promoted to senior positions, and you expect more responsibilities on your shoulders.” Mangau said.
He emphasized the importance of adaptability and continuous learning in leadership roles, urging the newly promoted officers to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth.
“Your success will not only reflect on you but also on the entire organization,” he added.
Below are the officers promoted to different offices within the RSIPF organization:
- Inspector Roland Tautaumao was promoted to the rank of Superintendent for the position of Provincial Police Commander (PPC) of Renbel Province.
- Inspector Mark Buga was promoted to the rank of Superintendent for the position of Operation Manager of Honiara City.
- Inspector Aipo Kabwere was promoted to the rank of Superintendent for the position of Director Close Personal Protection Department (CPPD).
- Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Michael Manuala was promoted to the rank of Superintendent for the position of Officer Commanding Station (OCS) White River Police.
- Police Constable Phillip Da’agi was promoted to the rank of Inspector for the position of Officer In-Charge (OIC) of the Armoury.
- Sergeant (Sgt) Johnny Eric Niabo was promoted to the rank of Inspector for the position of OIC Operation Safety.
- Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Robert Kwaiga was promoted to the rank of Inspector for the position of Coordinator of the Police Response Department.
- Sergeant (Sgt) Berry Vonah was promoted to the rank of Inspector for the position of Protection Liaison and Access Personal Protection Department (CPPD).
- Sergeant (Sgt) Arthur Pinipini was promoted to the rank of Inspector for the Operation Manager CPPD.
- Staff Sergeant Florence Wasimani was promoted to the rank of Inspector for the position of Operation Support Manager CPPD.
- Sergeant (Sgt) Frank Fikumani was promoted to the rank of Inspector for the position of OIC Police Infrastructure Department (PID).
- Staff Sergeant Noel Samson Aukwai Promoted to the rank of Inspector for the position of Coordinator, Malaita Province.
