The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) has officially launched the 9th Business Excellence Awards (BEA), with this year’s program expanding to recognize achievements across a wider range of businesses and industries.
The soft launch was held in Honiara on Thursday, with Vice Chair of the BEA Committee, Julieth Ataraia Tausinga, announcing that the number of award categories has increased from 12 to 21, with the Prime Minister’s Award bringing the total number of awards to 22.
Tausinga said the expansion reflects SICCI’s commitment to recognizing more businesses and individuals who have demonstrated excellence, innovation and achievement in the private sector.
The 9th Business Excellence Awards will be held on 7 November 2026 at Friendship Hall, Panatina, under the theme “From Resilience to Empowerment: Elevating Business Excellence Together.”
She said the theme recognizes the challenges faced by businesses over the years but also highlights the need to move beyond simply responding to difficulties and instead focus on creating new opportunities.
Tausinga said, the awards will highlight the resilience and adaptability of Solomon Islands businesses while encouraging innovation, investment, job creation and sustainable economic growth.
She also emphasized the importance of stronger partnerships between the private sector, government and development partners in supporting sustainable national development.
The BEA Committee said the awards are intended to celebrate organizations and individuals contributing to a stronger, more inclusive and vibrant Solomon Islands.
Nominations for the 9th Business Excellence Awards are now open, with eligible businesses and individuals encouraged to put forward their achievements for consideration.
Nomination forms and information on the award categories are available through the SICCI office and its official communication channels.
The deadline for nominations is Friday, 9 October 2026.
The awards ceremony on 7 November will bring together businesses and stakeholders to celebrate achievements in the private sector and recognize those contributing to the country’s economic development.
