FOUR Australia Awards Scholarship alumni completed their six-month internships as part of the 2024 Australia Awards Job Ready Program (JRP), after concluding undergraduate studies in Australia and the Pacific.
Alumni had the opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience across a range of sectors, strengthening their professional skills and expanding their networks in the Solomon Islands.
This opportunity has been made possible through the partnership between Australia Awards Solomon Islands and Pasifiki HR.
The alumni enjoyed internships with World Vision, World Wildlife Fund, Solomon Water, and Plan International. During their internships, they contributed to projects in marine conservation, engineering, project management, and child protection, applying their academic knowledge to real-world challenges.
This hands-on experience has greatly supported them, equipping them with the skills and insights needed to further their careers and make a positive contribution to Solomon Islands.
Australia Awards Scholarships are prestigious, merit-based, scholarships offered to current and emerging leads globally. Australia Awards alumni have often gone on to become leaders in government, the private sector, academia and their communities throughout Solomon Islands and the Pacific.
The next round of JRP internships for 2025 are now open. This opportunity is open to recently graduated Australia Awards Scholarship alumni or members of the Solomon Islands Australia Alumni Association.
