BEDBUG infestation is a growing concern for patients and visitors at the National Referral Hospital (NRH).

According to concerns being raised by some citizens at the NRH, even the benches at the waiting area are infested with bedbugs.

Ms. Eileen Beverly said she was admitted at the NRH for almost 3 months and most of the time, during hot days, she sometimes uses those benches at the waiting area to relax.

“I was admitted here for almost three months now and every time I tried to have a rest on these benches, the bugs will feast on whatever body parts they got hold of causing that disturbing inching scratchy feel.

“I started checking every bench out the Hospital and found the bug’s eggs and nests swarming nearly all the benches.

A similar concern was raised by regular visitors at the NRH who spoke with Sunday Isles.

“These places should be check regularly by the NRH Disease Prevention control unit to ensure that the whole Hospital is free from bedbugs,” they said.
