BROTHER Joses, a religious figure in the Society of Saint Francis (SSF) within the Anglican Church of Melanesia (ACOM), has called for unity in prayer for a successful and peaceful 2024 joint election.

In an interview with SUNDAY ISLES, Br. Joses stressed the importance of coming together as a community to pray for guidance and wisdom for both candidates and voters.

“The upcoming 2024 joint election is a crucial moment for our country, and it is important that we come together in prayer for a fair and transparent process,” Br. Joses said. “I urge all of our fellow citizens to join in prayer for a good election where the will of the people is respected and honored.”

Br. Joses also stressed the importance of unity and respect for differing opinions during the election season. “We may have different beliefs and ideologies, but at the end of the day, we are all one community and country.

“Let us come together in prayer and support each other as we navigate this important moment in our country’s history,” he said.

As the election draws nearer to April 17, Br. Joses called on all citizens to pray for peace, unity, and integrity in the electoral process.

“Together, we can make a difference through the power of prayer. Let us unite in faith and hope for a good election for the future of our country.

“It has always been our role. We always pray for us and for the people of this nation whenever it’s time to vote, especially to choose good leadership for our country.

“That is what we always do, whether in good or bad times for the country. We always pray for us and also for our leaders, whom we have vested our trust in to lead this country.

“It is also important that all other religious denominations in the country continue to pray; that is my hope,’’ Br. Joses added.
