THE Correctional Service of Solomon Islands (CSSI) welcomed 76 New Recruits during the commissioning service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Dominion Cathedral, Rove, Honiara on 27 January 2025.
A total of 76 New Recruits been commissioned, whilst 55 males and 21 females from diverse group of individuals who represent all our nine (09) provinces and named as ‘Pastor Titus Rore Recruits’.
The Pr. Rore Recruits will undergo16 weeks of intensive training both theoretical and practical aspects that will prepare them to perform efficiently and competently in their role as a correctional officer.
Speaking during the official opening of the Recruit course, CSSI Commissioner Mactus Forau acknowledge the Guest of Honour, Honourable Jimson Tanagada, Minister of Police, National Security & Correctional Services to witness and officiate the official opening of Pr. Rore Recruit Class of 01/2025, despite his busy schedule.
Commissioner also acknowledge Pastor Titus Rore for accepting CSSI in using his family name, in naming this Recruit Class as, “Pastor Titus Rore Recruits”.
Commissioner Forau says, Rore Recruits your presence signals a choice of commitment to serving your community and country as a member of Correctional Services of the Solomon Islands.
“I would like to reiterate to you that the Solomon Islands Government and the community expect that we at CSSI perform our duties with integrity professionalism and without favour and you are required to work hard and participate fully in class and outdoor activities to meet the competency standard required of the training course”.
“You are urged to make a commitment and work together as a team.
“Welcome to Correctional Service Solomon Islands for the commencement of your new recruitment course,” says Forau.
Guest of Honor, Honourable Minister Tanagada says, “today we officially open and commission the first recruit class of 2025, aptly named as ‘Pastor Titus Rore Recruit’ Class”.
“This is not just the beginning of a training journey for our recruits; but it symbolizes our ongoing commitment to building a safer and more secure nation.”
Minister urges the recruits to embody the core values that lie at the heart of our mission and these includes integrity, respect, and excellence. The character you build during this training will lay the foundation for your careers and will define the legacy you leave within our correctional system and society at large.
