Disability Solomon Islands Celebrates Opening of New Refurbish Office

Members of the People Living with Disability in Solomon Islands celebrated the refurbishment of their new office at the New China Town, Honiara.

PEOPLE Living with Disability Solomon Islands have celebrated the refurbishment of their new office at the New China Town, Honiara.

People Living with Disability Solomon Islands (PWDSI) President, Simon Dolaiano describe the opening of the new office as a milestone that signifies the growth of persons with disabilities and the organization.

He later acknowledges the support of developing partners and funders for the work together towards the refurbishment of the new office.

The new refurbished office comprised of an office space, a library, conference room, and an office space for the Blind and Visual Impairment Association (BVIA).

Meanwhile, PWDSI Manager Mr. Casper Fa’asala also described the significance of moving into the new office as graduation.

“The significance of making this new move is like graduating in our minds and making a new shift towards the thinking and attitudes of our people. Also to give better space to our people with special needs to perform and engage in the talent and abilities to also contribute to the social economy of our country,” Mr. Fa’asala said.

The opening ceremony was marked with speeches, cutting of the ribbon to the new office building and visitation into the office space.
