The Price Advisory Committee [PAC] of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Labour has released the adjusted fuel price from 16 May to 30 May 2026 as follows:

Petroleum ProductsWholesale [Maximum price in S.I. cents per litre]Retail [Maximum price in S.I. cents per litre]
Petroleum Motor Spirits (PMS)970.791,118.60
Distillate (ADO)1,348.221,524.33
Kerosene (KERO)1,337.28Maximum percentage mark-up Cost into store plus 7.5% for sales of packaged productCost into store plus 20% for breakbulk sales

The twice-monthly adjustment is to ensure that the price increases are smaller in amount.

The next price adjustment for fuel is anticipated on 1st June 2026. This price will be based on the average price of April 2026, during which month the global fuel prices were at their highest level, so we anticipate a further increase in the June price adjustments.

We reiterate that without incorporating the government fiscal measures, the fuel prices would be significantly higher than the levels released by the PAC today.

Consumers in Honiara are reminded that maximum retail prices in Honiara are legally fixed until they are changed in the next adjustment.

The Government hopes to introduce some fuel price control measures in provinces in the June price adjustments.

Government also confirms that the energy working group will continue to review fuel supply options, including alternative and renewable energy sources, as part of efforts to strengthen long-term energy security.
