THE Gold Ridge Mining Limited has resumed its series of Community awareness within its catchment areas.

According to the company spokesman Ben Afuga, the vision of the community awareness is to update and inform all communities within the Gold Ridge Mine catchment areas [Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream], and secondly to provide an opportunity for GRML to hear from its communities through feedbacks.

Afuga said GRML needs to maintain its social license to operate therefore reaching out to our communities through awareness is paramount.

“To achieve this, the company believes awareness about the project is paramount. It keeps communities engaged, it creates a peaceful coexistence, builds relationships, encourages family support and promotes the company amongst its communities and the outside communities”, Afuga explained.

During the awareness programmes one of the highlights is movie shows. “Yes, the team showed movies about the project and other relevant movies that help the people understand the project better”, Afuga added.

The awareness will spread across 19 venues with different catchment areas and will take a month to complete.
