OFFICERS of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force and Participating Police Force and Military personals will conduct a High visibility operation to monitor the scheduled Motion of No Confidence in Honiara.
The Motion of No Confidence (MONC) against Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare is scheduled on Monday 6 December at the Solomon Islands National Parliament.
Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Police Commissioner Mostyn Mangau told local journalists that officers RSIPF and their Regional counterparts will mount a High visibility operations within the City.
“We understand that there will be a Motion of No Confidence next week and the RSIPF police force with the international assistant forces are working together to put up a plan in place for Monday MONC.
“There will be a strong presence of policing team on the street, there will be checkpoints, there will be stationing of police everywhere on the ground to ensure that security is provided.
The Commissioner said that this is to ensure people can continue with their normal business during Monday’s MONC in Parliament.
“Police presence on the streets on Monday is to ensure that people have confidence and continue with their normal business during the tabling and discussing the MONC in Parliament,’’ he said.
