SORANAMOLA Community High School (CHS) at Northeast Choiseul opened its new Forms Four and Five extension classrooms last Thursday including three new Staff houses.
The source of funding for the project worth more than $200,000.00 is from the East Choiseul Constituency Office under their current Member of Parliament (MP) and also the country’s Prime Minister, Hon Manasseh Sogavare.
Materials and power tools used for the school developments are also covered under the funding for the project as Soranamola community carried out the work.
Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) for Katario Ward 13 at Northeast Choiseul, Hon Ronald Zakele who was the ‘Guest of Honour’ at the special ceremony remind everyone attending that the school is built because of the people’s need for the betterment of their children.
“This includes the need for an educated populace enhancing healthy living and resilient lives. To improve our children’s education must always be supported with quality infrastructures, as this should be a Ward priority,” said Zakele.
“As your Ward representative, I am really happy to see such development prosper in my Ward. I recommend more other similar types of project developments to be established within our Ward.
“It is my desire as your MPA to see that communities are supported in improving and maintaining quality infrastructures so that our people receive the best facilities the national government and provincial government can offer.”
The MPA for Katario Ward 13 reminds his people to look after the facilities and maintain them at their best.
“It cost a lot of resources to have this project fruitful and into completion. As it is also important that the school extension and the land on which these facilities are located remains protected for sustainable use, I thank landowners for offering the land for such development,” said Zakele.
“Providing quality access and better infrastructure facilities is a great challenge for our province and national government as well, I would like to acknowledge the determination and commitment of people sacrificing their time and developing this school project.
“This school extension is completed with success. The togetherness mentality must be nurtured and continued to be maintained and encouraged by all of us.
“Partnering together to invest in education programs will improve survival. The well-being of our people is a critical component of strengthening education in our communities and Ward.
“With sincere gratitude, this partnership work will continue so that our people in the community can also have better opportunity to be supported with facilities.”
In elaborating, though resources are limited, Mr Zakele encourages his people that somehow they might not know but a Pilot, Medical Doctor, Scientist or future Prime Minister will be born from Soranamola CHS.
“Though its remote location might be far, I encourage everyone that one day a light will shine from this part of Northeast Choiseul,” said Zakele.
“So to the Soranamola Community, look after properly the school buildings, build a good friendship with its Staff and students because the school is one important blessed source for a better future,” Hon Ronald Zakele said.
