New Specialist Clinics Bring Hope to Patients at National Referral Hospital

The 5th Chinese medical team at the Comprehensive Medical Center (CMC) of the National Referral Hospital in Honiara has opened two new specialist clinics. These are Neurosurgery and Breast Surgery. They join other ongoing services and bring better care for patients in Solomon Islands.

The Medical Team is committed to providing safe, effective and accessible healthcare. Local residents seeking medical attention are welcome to visit the National Referral Hospital (NRH) according to the clinic schedule. The team stands ready to safeguard the health and well-being of all Solomon Islands people.

Neurosurgery Clinic will run every Friday morning. Doctors’ diagnosis and treatment of craniocerebral trauma and hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage, providing precise diagnosis and treatment for patients in need. The specialist is specialized in neurointerventional surgery for cerebrovascular diseases.

Breast Surgery clinic is every Thursday morning at CMC. The specialist is proficient in standardized diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. As a newly added department, it focuses on routine surgery for various breast diseases, ultrasound‑guided breast biopsy, and minimally invasive resection of benign breast diseases, offering professional protection for women’s health.

Breast Surgery clinic is every Thursday morning at CMC.

Urology Service runs Monday and Tuesday mornings. The specialist is good at diagnosis and minimally invasive surgery for urinary calculi, benign prostatic hyperplasia, urinary system tumors and other diseases. Relying on the China-Solomon Islands Minimally Invasive Urology Surgery Center, the team continues to provide urology services for patients with urinary system diseases.

Cardiovascular Clinic is on Wednesday morning. Doctors specializes in diagnosis and treatment of Chronic Renal Failure, Hypertensive Nephropathy,Diabetic Nephropathy etc, providing Continue Renal Replacement therapy, health guidance to raise local awareness of kidney health management. The specialist is skilled in providing management for maintenance hemodialysis patients with chronic renal failure, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic complications in hemodialysis patients. She is capable of performing temporary internal jugular vein and femoral vein catheterization for blood purification, as well as removal of long‑term blood purification catheters.
