HONIARA, Solomon Islands – The U.S. Embassy to Solomon Islands announces the launch of its official website on Friday, March 21. The website – found at https://sb.usembassy.gov – will serve as a key information hub for Solomon Islanders, offering details on U.S. foreign policy, educational opportunities, visas to the United States, and U.S. citizen resources.

Visitors can access reports about the recent inauguration of President Donald J. Trump and details of Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s priorities and mission for U.S. foreign policy, biographies of Ambassador Ann Marie Yastishock and Chargé d’affaires Antone Greubel, application instructions for educational opportunities, U.S. Embassy coordinates, a list of holidays, and articles about past commemorations and high-level visits. In addition, the website links to the U.S. Embassy in Port Moresby for additional travel information.

The website launch coincides with the opening of two Fulbright programs: the Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship Program (two years of graduate study in the United States), and the Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (for secondary school teachers). The Fulbright Program, the U.S. government’s flagship international academic exchange program, has fostered international understanding since 1946.

At the bottom of the website’s homepage, visitors will find links to the U.S. Embassy’s official Facebook, X, and Flickr pages.

The U.S. Embassy notes the high level of interest among Solomon Islanders in the U.S. government’s many prestigious educational, fellowship, and grant programs. Visit @usembassyhoniara on Facebook for the most current information about these opportunities that are offered in the United States and around the Indo-Pacific region, as well as other fast-breaking announcements and information. In addition, the Embassy now offers a bank of photographs about its activities – both current and historic – on its Flickr page, @usembassyhoniara. Members of the media and others may utilize these photos on a copyright fee-free basis. The Embassy welcomes copying, distribution, and display of verbatim versions of these photos, completely without charge, but requests credit.
