ROYAL Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) reminds the general public residing within the Emergency Zone of Honiara to report any criminal issues occurring in their community.

The reminder comes after receiving many concerns and complaints from residents in the Capital Honiara, stating that people have been taking advantage of the recent lockdown periods to carry out criminal activities such as burglary.
According to RSIPF, communities are to call the police or go to their nearest police station and ask for help if they experience any sort of criminal activity.

“The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force [RSIP] reminds the public who reside within the Emergency Zone from Poha to Alligator Bridge to report any form of criminal issue occurring in the community during the current Covid-19 [Coronavirus] transmission situation,” said RSIPF.

“If you are experiencing criminal issues such as theft, assault, break-in and domestic violence in your community, please call police or emergency patrols or go to your nearest police station and ask for help.

“Police can be contacted on phone 23666 or free toll 999 if you need assistance.”

Meanwhile, it is understood a curfew has been proposed for Honiara that will run from 5:00pm to 8:00am each day.
