Prime Minister Leaves For Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting

SOLOMON Islands Prime Minister, the Hon Manasseh Sogavare will be leading a delegation to the 51st Pacific Islands Forum in Fiji tomorrow. The Forum begins on 11-14 of July.

Prime Minister will join other Pacific Leaders in celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Pacific Islands Forum in Fiji.

The Forum Leaders are expected to launch the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent, the Strategy will be the blue print of regional cooperation going into the future.

Leaders are expected to reform the Pacific Islands Forum and strengthen the unity and solidarity of the Pacific.

The Prime Minister is expected to sign a bilateral Maritime Agreement with Prime Minister Bainimarama along the margins of the Forum.

A Special MSG Summit is expected to be held during the course of next week. Prime Minister will be joined by Foreign Minister Hon Jeremiah Manele, who is currently in Fiji and will be attending the Forum Foreign Minister’s Meeting this week ahead of the PIF Leaders’ Summit.

Prime Minister’s delegation is expected back in the country on 15 of July 2022.
