Solomon Water would like to inform the public the road closure on the eastbound carriageway of the Kukum Highway from the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources to Panatina Plaza will continue to be closed due to a delay in sheet piling and pipe laying works.
Normal traffic operations are expected to resume on this road section in Mid-August.
The delay in the works is attributed to slow sheet piling progress, caused by variable ground conditions including harder ground and large quantities of coronous material in some sections of the pipe trench. This also had a knock-on effect on the pipe laying works.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused, especially to motorists and the travelling public. We also continue to appeal for public understanding as we advance to completing this part of the Sewer Works Project – Fisheries to Telekom Roundabout.
