EDUCATION for a better future was the theme for 2021 Rokera Provincial secondary school graduation ceremony – which is located on Small Malaita (Mara masike) in Southern region of Malaita province.
The Provincial Secondary School which offers forms one to six classes staged its Graduation ceremony on Friday 29 October.
The theme for the graduation and prize giving day reflected on importance of education.
The official program started with a colourful parade at 10 am with their teachers and ended 12.30 pm with feasting afterwards.
“Invited Guests are, Reverend Assistant Bishop Rickson, Rokera Parish Priest Gabriel, Chiefs from nearby communities, Principals from sister schools nearby, Education Officers Sothern Region, Colman Holi and Elizabeth Holi, SAO Afio Station Mr David Mane, Representatives from landowners, overall about 40 guests and PEO southern Region, Malaita Education Authority,’’ said Mr. Samuel Wairiasi a Head Tutor at the school.
He revealed that huge number have turn out for the official witnessing of the 22nd graduation ceremony since the initiation of the school back in year, 2000.
“The events has attracted more than 1000 participants. Over 300 students plus parents, relatives was part of the graduation including friends and supporters,’’ he said.
“A colourful and successful graduation and style garlanding along the walkway with complement of marching band,’’ highlighted Mr Wairiasi.
It was understood that a total of 300 plus graduands comprised of form 3, 5 and 6 were farewelled during the ceremony.
Richard Housiho, the southern region chief education officer was the Guest speaker.
Recently Malaita Provincial Premier Hon. Daniel Suidani has pledged SBD$10,000 for Rokera PSS during his recent visit to the school early last month.
