The swabbing date for returning Solomon Islands students from Fiji will be on April 5.
The previous testing date which was to be on March 8 was cancelled because of the March 30 Nadi-Honiara repatriation flight being rescheduled for April 7.
The swabbing date on April 5 will be at the Peninsula Hotel for Suva travellers, Van Lab in Namaka, and Nadi for Western travellers according to Solomon Islands (SI) Education Attaché at Suva Mr Francis Tavava.
In an email to student leaders at Fiji, Mr Tavava made it known that transport arrangements and time will be the same as per the previous email.
“Thank you for all your support and assistance in advising and keeping students informed of important information.
“Flight is confirmed for April 7, 2022. Those students travelling are kindly reminded to complete the travelling forms and send them to Second Secretary to the High Commission, Ms Madolyn Yalu.
“Swabbing date will be on the 5th April 2022, Peninsula Hotel for Suva travellers and Van Lab in Namaka, Nadi for Western travellers. Transport arrangements and time will be the same as per the previous email.
“Do not forget, Airline’s Max weight for this flight is 20kg,” said Tavava.
Early this week, Secretary to Prime Minister (SPM) and Vice Chairman of the National Oversight Committee (NOC) Dr Jimmie Rodgers had already mentioned that the second repatriation flight planned for Fiji on March 30 can be delayed to April 7.
“This is because there are not enough passenger numbers to make the flight at the moment,” said Rodgers.
