CHOISEUL Province has a new Provincial Government Assembly Premier elect, Hon Tongoua Tabe of Wagina Ward 1.

Out of the 16 Wards of Choiseul, Premier Tabe won in Favour of 10 votes this morning against his rival Hon David Deva of Viviru Ward 4, South Choiseul.

The new Premier has already sworn-in at the Choiseul Provincial Chambers.

Last week Choiseul had also seen its new ‘Hon Speaker’ Isaiah Pitakaka taking Office.

On December 14, 2022, both Choiseul and Western Provinces carried out their provincial government elections.

From Choiseul’s 16 Wards, only four previous Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs) have managed to retain their provincial seats. The other 12 are all new MPAs.

“Polls for the Hon Speaker and Premier are now complete as we look forward to a new provincial government term to serve our people,” said insiders.
