USAID Fund Grants Open Now for Applications from Solomon Islands

THE United States, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), welcomes applications from community-based organizations in the Pacific Islands, including Solomon Islands, for USAID’s Pacific American Fund.

USAID’s Pacific American Fund provides small grants to community-based organizations from the Pacific Islands working to improve the quality of life of vulnerable communities and to improve access to essential services across the region. Applications are due by March 31, 2023.

Applications are now open for locally owned, innovative solutions that address the following issues:  

  • climate change adaptation
  • environment, biodiversity conservation, and natural resource governance
  • disaster risk reduction, and disaster resilience building
  • access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services

USAID’s Pacific American Fund will provide 12 to 20 month grants at the following ranges: Range 1 – up to USD $150,000 (1,234,000 SBD) and Range 2 – between USD $150,001 and $1,000,000 (1,234,000 – 8,232,000 SBD). 

Eligible organizations include:

  • Private small and medium enterprises, chambers of commerce, and associations
  • Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and umbrella organizations that represent multiple NGO members
  • Universities, academic institutions, and advocacy groups
  • Faith-based organizations 

USAID’s Pacific American Fund is a five-year grant facility that addresses critical development challenges across 12 Pacific Island Countries, including the Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Republic of Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. 

USAID’s Pacific American Fund is a competitive regional small grants opportunity. Because grants are awarded competitively, there is no guarantee that an organization from each eligible country will receive an award. Multicountry submissions are also welcome.
