The School Calendar for this year 2022 is expected next week.
The recommendation paper presented by the Permanent Secretary (PS) of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development (MEHRD) to reopen schools is now deliberated on by the National Oversight Committee (NOC) and put together for Cabinet consideration.
Confirming this is Secretary to Prime Minister (SPM) and the Vice Chairman of NOC, Dr Jimmie Rodgers in this week’s Covid-19 TalkBack Show.
“Regarding school re-opening, the committee has deliberated on that and now we are putting together the paper [from MEHRD] for Cabinet consideration. So that one is again in the next week we will better know the school calendar for this year,” said Rodgers.
The academic year for 2022 was supposed to start on January 24, however, there is a delay due to the current situation of Coronavirus (Covid-19) experienced in the country.
It is understood that school students, teachers, parents and guardians are anticipating when school should start as it is already heading for the midyear.
