Outgoing Japanese Ambassador Acknowledges Strong Bilateral Relations

The outgoing Japanese Ambassador to the Solomon Islands, His Excellency MIWA Yoshiaki, has commended Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele MP, Government for National Unity and Transformation and people of Solomon Islands for the harmonious bilateral relations between Japan and the Solomon Islands.

In brief courtesy meeting with Prime Minister Manele, Ambassador Miwa highlighted the strong and enduring friendship between the two nations.

H.E Miwa reassured the Prime Minister that going forward, Japan’s focus will be on flagship projects such as the Bina Harbour project, National Malaria Control Program, Food Security, Unexploded Ordnance Clearance, Education Support and Agriculture.

Prime Minister Manele appreciates the partnership between Solomon Islands and Japan, a relationship rooted in history.

The Prime Minister stated, the government and people of Solomon Islands acknowledge H.E Miwa’s contribution to the SI- Japan relations.

Under H.E Miwa’s watch, the SI-Japan partnership has experienced deep bonds and steady progress.

Prime Minister Manele also acknowledge Japan’s ongoing assistance in Fisheries, Agriculture, Economy, Trade, Culture, Private Sector and unexploded ordnance (UXO) clearance.

Solomon Islands also value the various scholarship opportunities available for our young men and women to pursue studies in Japan.

The Prime Minister affirmed his government’s commitment to working closely with the incoming ambassador to ensure the continuation of strong, collaborative relations between the two countries.
