The MOFT Building complex in Noro was officially opened on Friday 8th August.

NORO, 14 August 2025– The Minister of Finance and Treasury, Hon. Harry Kuma, has officially opened a new office complex in Noro, Western Province, on Friday, 8th August, marking a significant milestone in the government’s commitment to expand and advance government services closer to the people and businesses.

The new office will serve as a central hub for Ministry operations in Western, Choiseul, and Isabel Provinces, providing essential services such as customs and excise, inland revenue, treasury, statistics, and ICT operations. The office will also host a National SIG-ICT Data Centre Backup infrastructure, ensuring the continuity of government services and national security.

Minister Kuma highlighted the importance of the new office in facilitating economic growth, enhancing local participation, and promoting inclusive decision-making. The office is expected to improve efficiency in service delivery, increase revenue collection, and support the growth of businesses in the region.

“It is a significant milestone in our government’s and my Ministry’s commitment to expand and advance government services close to our people and businesses,” Kuma said.

The Minister expressed gratitude to business houses in Noro and nearby centers for their support and partnership, which have contributed to the success of the project. The government has also acknowledged the contractor and technical team for their excellent work in delivering the project.

The new office is part of the Ministry’s Corporate Plan to prioritize targeted investments in service delivery closer to where the needs are. The government is committed to ensuring that its people, no matter where they live, can access the same level of support and services as those in the capital.

“This new office is not just about infrastructure; it’s about empowering people and empowering our businesses to meet their plans. By bringing services closer to communities, we will enhance local participation, enhance regulatory responsibilities, and promote inclusive decision-making,” Kuma said.

The Ministry of Finance and Treasury is one of the essential agencies of the government, providing strategic leadership on fiscal and economic advice to ensure the government implements its mandatory obligations and to drive economic development and growth in the country.

In the last three years, the Ministry of Finance and Treasury Office in Noro port facilitated more than $4 billion in the value of exports, generating more than SBD500million dollars in revenue.

Minister Kuma officially declared the Noro Ministry of Finance and Treasury building open, marking a new chapter in the government’s efforts to bring services closer to the people in the presence of the Premier and Members of the Western Provincial Government, business representatives, Government representatives, and the public of Nore and surrounding communities.
