The Solomon Islands National Broadband Infrastructure Project (SINBIP) has reached a significant milestone with the successful commissioning of three new telecommunication towers in Guadalcanal, further bolstering the nation’s digital connectivity.
The towers, situated at Naho (Site M114), Haleatu (Site 116), and Kikinocho (Site M119), are now fully operational. They extend reliable network coverage to previously underserved areas in East and South Guadalcanal, bringing the total number of fully operational sites to 47.

This achievement stems from a strategic collaboration between the People’s Republic of China and the Solomon Islands government, alongside efforts from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Communication and Aviation, Solomon Tower Limited, China Harbour Engineering Company Limited, Huawei, and Our Telekom. This partnership underscores ongoing international cooperation aimed at expanding critical infrastructure to support the Solomon Islands’ socio-economic development.
Following their activation, operational management of the towers will be entrusted to Solomon Tower Limited, which will ensure sustained and efficient service delivery.

The newly upgraded network infrastructure provides local communities with better access to communication services, fostering stronger social connections and unlocking new opportunities for economic growth and inclusion.
