Participants of the Institute of Solomon Islands Accountants Annual Congress 2025.

A gathering of Solomon Islands accounting professionals, policymakers, and industry leaders has discussed ways to drive economic growth and ethical and inclusive accounting practices at the Institute of Solomon Islands Accountants (ISIA) Annual Congress 2025.

Over two days, delegates covered key topics including resilience accounting, the role of micro, small, and medium enterprises in driving economic growth, and the importance of ethical and inclusive practices in the profession. Australia was the Platinum Sponsor of the Congress for the second year running.

Australia has funded 116 Professional Diploma in Accounting scholarships.

Australian High Commissioner His Excellency Rod Hilton said, “Australia recognises the key role the Institute of Solomon Islands Accountants plays in driving national development. Our support demonstrates Australia’s commitment to advancing Solomon Islands’ accounting sector through organisational support, training, and event sponsorship.”

Australia has funded 116 Professional Diploma in Accounting scholarships to date – most of which have gone to public servants – and will continue to provide scholarships for the next cohort of the program.

The Australian High Commission congratulates ISIA and all participants on the success of this year’s Congress. This continued support ensures that local accountants are equipped with the skills and knowledge required to meet global standards and contribute to a dynamic, resilient financial sector.
