Today marked the inaugural Parliamentary engagement session, bringing together a lively group of young Solomon Islanders.

The session was led by Hon. Matthew Wale, Leader of the Opposition and SIDP Parliamentary Wing Leader, and Hon. John Maneniaru, SIDP Member of Parliament for West Are’are, and facilitated by Young Democrats of SI.

Participants were given a tour of the National Parliament, including a visit to the Bills and Legislation Committee room, where Hon. Maneniaru explained the law-making process.

The session continued with a dialogue at the Parliament leaf hut, where the MPs shared SIDP policies and addressed youth concerns.

Hon. Wale emphasized the importance of democracy, encouraging young people to participate in political discussions and elections, highlighting the value of diverse perspectives in shaping the nation’s future.

The program continues tomorrow, and SIDP membership remains open to interested individuals.
