April Valley Community in East Honiara is celebrating the successful completion of four (4) new boreholes that will provide clean and safe water to families in the area.

Councillor Yeo thanked the community for their cooperation and commitment. She said the project may be small compared to other larger developments, but it is very important because it directly improves the daily lives of families.

“This project shows what we can achieve when we work together,” Councillor Yeo said. “We are saving lives by giving our community access to clean and safe water. Clean water is a basic need, and I am proud that we have delivered this for our people.”

The project cost over $15,000 and involved the installation of four boreholes at key locations within the community. These boreholes will help reduce the challenges families face in accessing clean water, especially during dry periods. Women and children, who often carry water for household use, are expected to benefit greatly from the improved access.

Community members expressed their appreciation to Councillor Yeo for her support and leadership. They said the new water supply will improve health, sanitation, and overall living conditions in April Valley.

One community representative said the project demonstrates the importance of unity and cooperation. “We are very happy and thankful. This will make a big difference in our daily lives,” the representative said.

The successful completion of the boreholes highlights the importance of collaboration between elected leaders and communities in delivering practical and life-changing development projects.
