Confirming this in a statement, Member of Parliament (MP) for CMC, Hon. Nestol Giro confirmed that swabbing will take place on Monday and Tuesday before boarding time at Lawson Tama and Ports area Point Cruz.
Hon. Giro however confirmed that backloading of general cargoes and other goods cannot be done onboard the vessel as the ship will not sleep overnight at Kirakira Station.
“CMC is making arrangements for any shipping service provider to ship cargoes to CMC. It will be confirmed next week,” Hon. Giro said.
In the meantime, he acknowledges the province’s PDOC waiting at each port of call and the Health team in Honiara for the preparations and swabbing of passengers before the departure time come Tuesday.
“To the travelling passengers, there are still challenges ahead. Please comply to the protocols starting from when you board the vessel until you disembark from it at your respective port of call,” Hon. Nestol Giro urged his people.
