CARGO supplies much anticipated for in Central Islands Province (CIP) have finally arrived.

The LC ADIWAITUI vessel made berth at Tulaghi around 3:15 am today, Monday.

This comes as good news for the people of the province since waiting for cargo supplies two weeks ago due to the ‘food shortage’ faced in this current Coronavirus (Covid-19) situation in the country.

It is understood that the public at Tulaghi are advised by CIP’s Provincial Emergency Operating Centre (PEOC) and Provincial Disaster Operation Centre (PDOC) to stay clear from the vessel until it is cleared by the province health team.

“Until the vessel is cleared before the Provincial Emergency Response Team [PERT] and business owners will later have access to LC ADIWAITUI as well,” Clarify CIP’s PEOC.

The arrival of LC ADIWAITUI comes as a relief for the people of CIP.

“Thank you to everyone making it possible through arrangements for the vessel to travel to the province with the much-needed assistance of cargo supplies,” said members of CIP’s public.
