Gold Ridge Mining Limited (GRML) officially inaugurated its new state-of-the-art office building at the Gold Ridge Mine site, marking a significant milestone in the company’s continued development, operational strengthening, and long-term expansion strategy.
The new facility represents a major upgrade in site infrastructure, aimed at improving operational coordination, administrative efficiency, and working conditions for staff as the company advances into its next phase of growth.
The ceremony brought together Gold Ridge Community Investment Limited (GCIL), the Gold Ridge Community and Landowners Council (GRCLC), KTDA/MDA, CMSA, traditional chiefs, church leaders, contractors, and GRML management and staff, reflecting the strong partnership between all stakeholders involved in the Gold Ridge Project.
Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Gao — Executive Chairman of Wanguo Gold Group, Executive Chairman of GRML, and — described the occasion as a major milestone built on years of dedication, resilience, and collective effort.
He said the completion of the office building reflects GRML’s long-term development approach of prioritising reinvestment into core mining infrastructure before expanding administrative facilities.
“This achievement is the result of eight years of dedication and collective effort. It is a milestone built through unity and hard work,” Mr. Gao said.
He acknowledged that the company’s journey has included both challenges and progress, but emphasized steady operational stability and growth at Gold Ridge Mine.
“We have faced many challenges and difficulties, but also experienced moments of progress and success. Today, we proudly witness the stable development and continued operation of Gold Ridge Mine,” he said.
Mr. Gao expressed appreciation to the Gold Ridge landowners and chiefs for their continued support, describing it as fundamental to the project’s success.
“This success would not have been possible without the strong support of the Chiefs and Landowners of the Gold Ridge community, as well as the dedication of our entire team,” he said.
Looking ahead, he reaffirmed GRML’s commitment to major future development plans, including the construction and commissioning of a 10 million tonne processing plant.
He also emphasized continued partnership with stakeholders:
“Your trust, care, and guidance give us strength and motivation,” he said.
A key highlight of the event was the announcement that GRML will construct separate new office buildings for all landowner associations — GRCLC, KTDA/MDA, CMSA and the yet to established landowners association representing landowners in the new proposed mining lease area for the expansion project— with each group to select its preferred location and GRML will build offices for them to modern standards integrating Solomon Islands culture.
Chairman of the Gold Ridge Community and Landowners Council (GRCLC), Mr. Dick Douglas, welcomed the commissioning of the new office building, describing it as a significant milestone in the long-standing partnership between landowners and GRML.
He acknowledged the transformation of the project since Wanguo Gold Group assumed operations in 2017, noting visible improvements in infrastructure and working conditions.
“Today is a special moment for all of us who have worked over the years to see this project grow,” Mr. Douglas said.
He highlighted the importance of unity among stakeholders, including landowner associations, GCIL, and the company.
“We are all in the same canoe, paddling in the same direction. Our unity is our strength,” he said.
He concluded by encouraging continued cooperation for the long-term success of the Gold Ridge Project.
Chairman of Gold Ridge Community Investment Limited (GCIL) and Director of GRML, Mr. Walton Naezon, described the new office building as a clear step toward modern, world-class mining operations at Gold Ridge.
He commended GRML leadership for delivering on long-standing commitments to improve infrastructure and working conditions.
“This is a proud moment for all of us. Today, we are witnessing the result of a promise fulfilled,” Mr. Naezon said.
He noted the transition from earlier infrastructure dating back to the Ross Mining era into modern, purpose-built facilities.
“We are moving into a world-class operation. What we are seeing today reflects improved standards and transformation at Gold Ridge,” he said.
He also welcomed the announcement of new office facilities for landowner associations, describing it as an important extension of shared development benefits.
“This project contributes significantly to the national economy and provides opportunities for our people,” he said.
He reaffirmed confidence in the project’s direction and encouraged continued stakeholder support.
