A HIGH-level delegation from the Makira Ulawa Provincial Government has arrived on Ulawa Island for the Handing over ceremonies of the six Solomon Islands Rural Development Program (SIRDP) projects.
Arriving yesterday evening on LC Lokoiola from Kirakira, are the team of 10 which comprises of three senior government Ministers; the MUP Deputy Premier and MPA forward one, Honorable Davis Maemae, the Minister of Health and Medical Services, and MPA for ward 18, Honorable Benson Piringi, the Minister for Commerce, Honorable Brook Wa’o and other provincial senior staffs together with officers from the SIRDP Provincial Support Unit lead by the Team Leader, Mrs. Annie Rafeasi.
Mrs. Annie Rafeasi said that the delegation will be on Ulawa Island for the handing over of six projects that were funded by the Solomon Island Rural Development Program.
“The MUP provincial delegation is on Ulawa to officiate the handing over ceremonies of six SIRDP funded projects on Ulawa Island starting on Friday 15th October 2021 and will be staying for one week for the hand over programs that were to be held on six different communities”, Mrs. Rafeasi confirmed.
She said that three officers from the SIRDP head office in Honiara lead by the SIRDP Component one (C1) program coordinator, Ms. Freda Siwainao will be arriving by plane on Thursday 14th October to join the delegation as well as the Makira Ulawa provincial Chief Education Officer, Mr. Gilbert Tabihau.
Mrs. Rafeasi added that they will be doing handing over ceremonies of projects on all the three provincial wards on Ulawa Island in the Makira Ulawa province and each ward have two projects each that were fully funded by the Solomon Islands Rural Development Program.
“We have six projects that were to be handed over and each provincial ward on Ulawa Island have two projects each, under the SIRDP cycle five and cycle six projects”, Mrs. Rafeasi said.
“In ward 1, we have Haraina kindy staff house project and Rongo lelei water supply and sanitation, inward two, we have Ha’au and Aleale community water supply and sanitation and in ward 3, we have Ripo ECE classroom building and Aosi water supply and sanitation projects”, Mrs. Rafeasi said.
