To ensure the coverage of COVID- 19 testing reaches as many people as possible, the government is providing training to non- health workers to do rapid COVID- 19 testing.
Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare announced that government ministries and big companies can send in two teams each comprising three members for the training. The training has started and will continue next week.
PM Sogavare said after the training, testing can be done once a week for government ministries and big companies.
He said for government ministries and big companies that are doing frontline works or dealing with the public on daily basis, rapid tests should happen on them twice a week so as to early detect COVID- 19 transmission.
Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare encouraged government ministries and big companies to send in the names of their swabbing teams to the Incidence Controller in the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.
