THE Young Entrepreneurs Council Solomon Islands (YECSI) successfully hosted its First-Ever Awards Event last night (17/11/2022) at the Pacific Crowns Hotel. The theme for the event is “Empowering Young Entrepreneurs for a Sustainable Economy”.
The awards event is mainly to appreciate and recognize the contribution of young entrepreneurs to the socio-economic development of the country and to celebrate the growth and journey of the members of YECSI.
YECSI Chairman John Wopereis in his opening remarks highlighted a brief history of YECSI and with YECSI’s Vision to actively nurture a community of young entrepreneurs that will contribute to social, and economic development of Solomon Islands in the future.
The highlight of the event, includes having the Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands, Honorable Manasseh Sogavare as the Guest of Honor who delivered a keynote address. (SEE PM SOGAVARE DELIVERING HIS KEYNOTE ADDRESS HERE)
In attendance at the event were Senior Members and Heads of Departments of the Government Ministries. Cooperates Business houses including BSP and Bred Bank, High Commission offices and stakeholders and supporters of YECSI.
YECSI Awarded the four winners as: KMJ Baby Care-Malika Enterprise as the most Committed Entrepreneur of the Year, Kava Haus Solomon as the most Improved Male Entrepreneur of the year, Lokol Impact as the Most Improved Female Entrepreneur of the Year and the Most Innovative Entrepreneur of the year RISC-Girls Club.
The Prime Minister Award is given to the YECSI’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year – Reveal Pasifik.

The YECSI first-ever awards event ended with a networking time where the Honorable Prime Minister was given the opportunity to go from table to table to meet our young entrepreneurs and also invited corporate business houses, stakeholders, partners and supporters.
