Solomon Islands dollar, a business background with money

The Solomon Islands dollar (SBD) has further depreciated against the United States dollar by 0.3% to an average of $8.01 per USD in the month of June.

This was revealed by the Central Bank of Solomon Islands (CBSI) Monthly Economic Bulletin for the month of June, 2021 released this week.

On the other hand, the bulletin stated that the Solomon Islands dollar (SBD) valued against the Australian dollar and New Zealand dollar by 1.2% to $6.12 per AUD and by 1.2% to $5.70 per NZD, respectively in the Month of June, 2021.

Furthermore, the bulletin revealed that the SBD weakened against the British pound but however, strengthened against the Japanese Yen and the Euro during the period.

Against the bilateral exchange rate movements within the trade-weighted index (TWI) currency basket weakened by 65 basis points to an index of 106.6,” The June, 2021 Monthly Economic Bulletin reported.
