Colin Beck Re-Appointed as Permanent Secretary

PERMANENT Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Colin Beck was reappointed to lead the Ministry for a second term.

Mr. Beck’s new term was formalized during a swearing in ceremony at Government House on 21st November 2022.

Governor General, Sir David Vunagi conducted the ceremony in the presence of government house officials, a staff from the Prime Minister’s office and members of Mr. Beck’s family.

Permanent Secretary Beck was a seasoned diplomat, having served as Solomon Island’s representative to a number of countries, including as Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Ambassador to the United States of America in the recent past.
