APPROVAL is given to the appeal of Papaza tribe at Soranamola, Northeast Choiseul, for a Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) School to be established in their territory.
Giving a ‘consent letter’ is the Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Choiseul Province Mr Henry Deva, who according to reports will arrange funds for fuel by next week and will consult Lands Officers and members from the ‘RWASH’ to check on the land site and ‘water’ supply.
Former Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) for Katario Ward 13 at Northeast Choiseul Mr Ronald Zakele in providing an update for his people said the CEO will need about two Lands Officers and those from the RWASH team so that they will hold a survey next week.
“The CEO has confirmed that the people of Papaza tribe are given ‘green light’ on their application. After vising the site, the CEO will return to arrange for all the paperwork to be in process for a TVET Vocational School to be established at Papaza.
It is the Papaza tribe’s wish for a TVET school to be established at Northeast Choiseul so that more of their people especially the young generation can have nearer access to such an institution that will help them gain and equip knowledge and practical skills required in the global fields of works.
“The people and the Chiefs of Papaza tribe offering land for a TVET Vocational School to be set up is a good visionary move in the ‘area of education for the human resources in favour of development leading to a better society,” said Zakele.
