PRIME Minister Jeremiah Manele MP has arrived in Tokyo, Japan in the late afternoon on Monday- 15th July 2024- for the 10th Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting (PALM 10).
Manele arrived in Tokyo after completing his state visit to People’s Republic of China (PRC). Arriving in Tokyo, the PM is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Peter Shanel Agovaka and Minister of Health and Medical Services, Paul Popora Bosawai.
The PALM 10 will start today – 16th July 2024- with side events accounting for the two days – Tuesday and Wednesday, and the PALM 10 meeting proper will take place on Thursday 18th.
Prime Minister Manele will have sideline meetings at the PALM 10 as well and the details of these meetings will be provided as and when they will occur.
PM Manele was invited to the PALM 10 by the host nation, government of Japan, through the special envoy to the Prime Minister of Japan Mr. Hirotaka Ishihira who was in Honiara about two weeks.
Solomon Islands valued its bilateral relationship with Japan, the two countries shared a lot in common interests. Japan involved a lot in infrastructure developments.
Meanwhile, Minister of Health and Medical Services honorable Paul Popora Bosawai will attend to a Global Fund initiative meeting under Asian Development Bank (ADB).
