Prime Minister Matthew Wale has thanked members of the GREAT Coalition who have remained with the Government and welcomed those who have recently joined.
Speaking in Parliament, Mr Wale said the support of coalition members was important for maintaining stability in Parliament and Government.
He said the Government has a clear vision for Solomon Islands and called on MPs to work together.
“Let us achieve stability in the House and in Government because we have a reasonable, realistic and achievable vision for our people,” he said.
Mr Wale also admitted that the Government’s reform programme is bringing fast changes and that some people may resist those changes.
“Many things are changing under GREAT Coalition vision. And of course we will expect some resistance. That is only human. We accept that too,” he said.
The Prime Minister said differences within the Government should be handled through dialogue and discussion instead of allowing them to grow into bigger problems.
He said he is also learning from recent experiences and is willing to listen to different views.
“I must learn from; I am learning from and hope to keep learning, keep being open to dialogue and discussions,” he said.
Mr Wale said the Government is working to improve communication and consultation among its members so that problems can be resolved internally.
He said unity and stability are important as the GREAT Coalition continues to carry out its reform plans.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed that the Government will continue working towards what he described as a reasonable, realistic and achievable vision for the people of Solomon Islands.
