MEMBERS of the Correctional Services of Solomon Islands (CSSI) have taken their oath of office as authorised officers to support the RSIPF Police Response Department (PRD) in preparation for their participation in providing security during the upcoming Motion of no confidence and continued on for the festive season operations.

Over 30 plus CSSI officers take their oath to form part of RSIPF operation.

The oath of office was administered by the Commissioner of the RSIPF Mr. Mostyn Mangau for the CSSI officers at Rove Police headquarters on 10 December 2024.

Commissioner Mangau told the officers that for the purpose of the upcoming operations ahead, they are part of the RSIPF PRD operation teams.

“I ask you to respect that and take it seriously in terms of the responsibilities and the powers that you have not only for the police force but also for the public and to the law,” Commissioner Mangau said.

He urged the CSSI officers to work together as a team and to work together with their colleagues from the RSIPF.

“Make sure you do your absolute best to ensure everyone’s safety is guaranteed. We need to take that responsibility very seriously,” Commissioner Mangau said.
