Under the memorandum, the two organisations will exchange news content covering culture, tourism, economic and social development, as well as areas of bilateral cooperation, for publication across their respective media platforms.

Deputy Special Security to the Prime Minister Barnabas Henson in his speech during the signing ceremony event said the Memorandum signed establishes a practical framework for cooperation through news exchanges, joint reporting, journalist exchanges, professional development, and media capacity building.

He said these initiatives will create valuable opportunities for professionals from both countries to learn from one another, share experience, embrace innovation, and build lasting institutional relationships.

Mr Henson says he is confident the partnership will deepen understanding between the people of Guizhou Province and the people of Solomon Islands.

“I am confident this partnership between Guizhou Today Convergent Media Group and Tavuli News will deepen understanding between the people of Guizhou Province and the people of Solomon Islands. It will also contribute to stronger cultural ties, greater tourism promotion, enhanced professional cooperation, and a deeper appreciation of our shared aspirations for peace, development, and prosperity,” he said.

Tavuli News is an independent multimedia news organisation based in the Solomon Islands, while Guizhou Today Convergent Media Group is one of Guizhou Province’s leading integrated media organisations, publishing news across digital, print, broadcast and social media platforms.
The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation in news exchanges, joint reporting, journalist exchanges and professional development.
