St Franciscan brother, Steven who spoke to Sunday isles on Saturday said the fundraising is to raise the much needed funds in preparation towards the celebration in October this year.

“The fundraising is for the 50th anniversary of Franciscan brotherhood in Solomon Islands and the event will be marked on 4th of October this year,’’ said brother Steven.

“The fund will go towards some of the works-such as renovations of building and preparing the whole venue compound ahead of the celebration,” he said.

According to Brother Steven the celebration will be held at Hautabu, the St. Franciscan Brotherhood Headquarters in West Guadalcanal.

“This is the 5th fundraising drive we did here at all saints passion house. The venue for the event is Hautabu headquarters in west Guadalcanal,’’ he said.

Brother Steven further said that the day is purposely to remember the establishment of St. Franciscan brotherhood in the Solomon Islands.

“It is the day we will commemorate the establishment of St. Franciscan brotherhood in Solomon islands. Members of Franciscan society as well as ACOM will also part of the celebrations,’’ he said.
