MALAITA’s Aligegeo Provincial Secondary School dining hall construction is expected to commence last quarter of this year.

The school dining hall was razed in a fire incident in August 2019.

A statement from the Asset Management Division of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development (MEHRD) says implementation of the historical school’s critical infrastructure should be out on the next lot of tender 2.

“Tender dossiers are being prepared and will come out shortly.

“Under the ministry’s 2021 development budget, a total of $60,000 support was allocated to kick off the project.

“Implementation should be around October and will roll over to 2022 development budget projected for full completion in 3rd quarter of 2022,” the statement said. 

The estimated cost for the project is SBD4 million.

The Government is committed to develop and build education infrastructure to accommodate the increasing enrolment in primary and secondary schools throughout the country.
