

Australia has gifted the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force Police Prosecutions Department (PPD) new ICT equipment to support its critical mandate – promoting a safe, secure and peaceful Solomon Islands.
Through the Australia Solomon Islands Partnership for Justice (ASIPJ), Australia provided ten new computers, to help PPD staff process prosecutions matters more efficiently.
ASIPJ supports agencies across the law and justice sector and assists the Solomon Islands Government to promote national security, law and order across the country.
PPD Director Superintendent Rodney Wheatney, who received the ICT Equipment on behalf of the agency, said “the PPD is grateful for the generous donation by the Australian Government through the Australia Solomon Islands Partnership for Justice.”
“This donation represents more than just equipment, it symbolises a renewed commitment to justice and security and a step forward in strengthening the rule of law in Solomon Islands.”
“We will be able to process cases more swiftly, reduce delays, and enhance the overall quality of our service to the community.”
Australia’s High Commissioner to Solomon Islands, His Excellency Rod Hilton, said Australia and Solomon Islands’ law, justice and security partnership is underpinned by shared values and a commitment to the rule of law.
“Through its prosecutorial services, the Police Prosecutions Department plays an important role in advancing those values and promoting a stable, prosperous Solomon Islands.”
