Baoro Laxton Koraua, a seasoned accountant from the Solomon Islands, has been honored with the Outstanding Service to the Accounting Profession Award by the Institute of Solomon Islands Accountants.

Baoro Laxton Koraua, a veteran accountant in the Solomon Islands, has been awarded the Outstanding Service to the Accounting Profession Award by the Institute of Solomon Islands Accountants (ISIA).

Recognised for his exceptional dedication and transformative contributions to the field, Baoro’s award celebrates a career spanning more than 40 years across diverse industries, including aviation, education, oil and gas, telecommunications, and the non-profit sector.

The award, presented during the 2025 ISIA Accounting Awards night, acknowledges individuals who have gone beyond expectations to elevate the accounting profession and its impact on communities and the national economy.

Baoro Laxton Koraua, a veteran accountant in the Solomon Islands, has been awarded the Outstanding Service to the Accounting Profession Award by the Institute of Solomon Islands Accountants (ISIA).

“Baoro’s leadership and service have not only strengthened institutions but also paved the way for future generations of accountants in the Solomon Islands,” the ISIA noted during the award presentation.

Baoro is the sole shareholder of Baoro & Associates CPA Ltd and Yam & Co Chartered Accountants, firms he established in 2010 after an extensive career that included roles at the Office of the Auditor General, Solomon Airlines, Deloitte PNG, Air Niugini, and the Forum Fisheries Agency.

Beyond his technical expertise in audit, tax, corporate finance, and advisory services, Baoro has held key governance roles — including two terms as ISIA President, and board memberships at the Central Bank of Solomon Islands, SINPF, Solomon Telekom, and M-Selen.

His colleagues and peers credit him with mentoring countless professionals and playing a major role in shaping financial leadership across the country.
