Wesley United Church hosted a special Interdenominational Children’s Rally, attracting children from various denominations in Central Honiara.
Organised by the Solomon Islands Child Evangelism Fellowship, the rally on Sunday, 16 August brought together Sunday Schools, Good News Clubs, and other children’s ministries from various churches for a joyful day of fellowship, faith, and fun.
“The purpose of this program is to evangelize the unsaved children and to disciple the saved ones,” said Vivian Dola Kwaimasi, one of the event’s organizers.

This year’s rally centered on the theme: “The Lord Our Anchor”, based on Hebrews 6:19. Children learned about standing firm in their faith, with Bible lessons focused on the story of Daniel in the fiery furnace. The event’s theme song, “We Have an Anchor”, echoed through the church halls.
Kwaimasi said the rally is an annual event and provides a space for children from different churches to grow spiritually and build friendships.

“We organize this every year, and each year we have a theme that guides our lessons, songs, and activities,” she explained.
Children were divided into small classes for Bible storytelling and discussions based on the theme. After a shared lunch provided by Sunday School teams, the children presented songs, skits, and Bible verses to close the day.
“It’s always exciting to see how the children grow in confidence and understanding of God’s Word,” Kwaimasi added.
This year, the Central Honiara rally was held at Wesley United Church, while a second rally for East Honiara took place at Tabernacle Worship Centre, Henderson.

Participating groups in the Central Honiara rally included:
- SSEC Central
- Wesley United
- St Barnabas
- Living Word
- Salvation Army
- Joshua Prayer House
- GGValley Good News Club
- Seven Stream International
- Tuvaruhu St Michael
- Christ Life Sunday School
Kwaimasi said the joy and energy of the children are always the highlight of the rally.
“When the children sing, act out Bible stories, and share what they’ve learned — it shows us that these moments are making a difference.”
Plans are already underway for next year’s rally, and organisers hope to include even more churches and children.
