THE curfew hours in Honiara will reduce to 12 hours from 6 pm through to 6 am as of tomorrow, Monday 7th February 2022.

Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare stated during his address today that the oversight committee has recommended the curfew hours to ensure businesses can continue essential business activities, while balancing the increasing health risk to the general population.

Prime Minister Sogavare also reiterated that Honiara Emergency Zone boundary remains in hard lockdown.
“Movements within the emergency zone is allowed during non curfew hours between 6am and 6pm from tomorrow, however, no one is allowed to go out from the Honiara emergency zone to Guadalcanal and other provinces to reduce the potential transmission of COVID-19 to areas outside Honiara.

“People from outside the honiara emergency zone that enter the zone are not allowed to go back out of the zone. They must remain within the owner emergency zone except for authorized officers and those that are exempted,” Prime Minister Sogavare said.
