FORMER Premier of the Central Islands Province Stanley Manetiva has urged the people of the Central Islands Province to work with the Government.

He made these comments concerning the theme – ‘‘Unity for Sustainable Development” to celebrate the Central Islands Province’s 41st Second Appointed Day at Tulagi, the capital of Central Province on Wednesday 29 June.

“We need unity, a tool to advance development in our beloved province. We need unity to advance Peace, Security, in the province.

“It is only right and unjust through the realization that I call for unity at all levels of governance and life,” he said.

“More can be said on the theme, ‘Unity is Sustainable Development. Wishing everyone here and those who may be seen the highlights of the Anniversary on the media – a happy 41st Second Appointed Day, God bless Central Province and God bless the Solomon Islands.

“The free amble of Solomon Islands constitution acknowledge the supremacy of God our almighty, the sustainer, the provider, the giver, the taker of life.

“That been our pledge to the creator, therefore, the 41st 2nd Anniversary is only proper that we reflect on Gods’ guardians and purpose for us on earth, our life, the governance, duty towards one another is paramount to a success and Godly duty for the people of God.”

Meanwhile, the Guest of Honour, Reverend Bishop Stephen Ghoete reiterated that the three pillars – the government, the Church, and the Custom, must always work together for we serve the same people.

“Despite, the situation the province is now facing, organizers have significantly ensured and decided that the day must be celebrated by the people of Central Island,” Reverend Stephen.

“It is a day, especially for you. The day that the National Government of Solomon Islands and its people recognized that we are a people and that we have virtues and values, sea, land, and human resources that we can stand on our own.

“After 41 years that recognition links us on. Citizens of this province I want to say, ‘today marks another milestone in the history of CIP.

“It is a time where you (people of Central Islands) to make reflections upon the journey, goals, achievements, and challenges that the province has undergone.

“It is a time we must acknowledge our traditions, our leaders of the past, and our leaders of today all this should be the focus of our celebrations today, and don’t forget the theme ‘unity in sustainable development

“As we continue to celebrate 41st 2nd appointed day throughout this day may the love of God prevails in our hearts and minds,” the Reverend added.
